After the WiMax, the WiFi step : done !
It’s already few weeks that my wimax connection to the Internet works nice : no drops, only once a strange DNS flaw during a week-end but nothing terrible, and a very stable bandwidth.
The next step was to install a wifi router after the RJ-45 antenna box, where I connected the PC.
I chose a Linksys Pre-N in order to be sure that signal will go well through the thick walls of my humble farm.
After a config off line in Clamart, the deploy went as well as expected : 1) plugging everything, 2) let’s surf on the World Wide Web !
Now, I have a question : is the signal is so strong that my neighbors can “see” it ? I think so, but it must be checked. It will be the first HotSpot in Montperroux ever
