Altitude WiMax Support : a good experience

Usually, we are reporting almost always negative experience, and not good ones.

In order to correct this, I wanted to speak about my last contact with Altitude Phone Support.

It was a monday morning, and we had a loss of Internet connection. After power cycling all equipment PC router and antenna interface, I decided to call Altitude Customer Services.

After some validations of my call (“do you have power on your venue …”), they opened a trouble ticket. Then somebody recalled me after some minutes and spent time as much as required to understand and try to fix my issue.

In the mean time, the connexion came back, but is nothing against the fact that Altitude people delivered the service level that I expected and needed.

WiMax : Antenna Issue

Sorry, it’s a bit boring but unfortunately, it’s the life !

Our connection felt down last week-end, and Altitude TC, the infrastructure and Internet Access provider did the diagnostic that my equipment was out of order.

The appointment with the Repair Supplier was tricky because they do not work on Monday, Altitude TC do not work on Saturday and I am in Montperroux only for week-ends. As a result, I took one day off specially for that, and we had set the appointment for the 6th of April.

This last week-end, thanks to an invitation to the New Orne Execs at the Department House, I had to stay on Monday. I took this opportunity to run some tests on my antenna and everything looked ok. I called the Altitude TC operator and tried to understand if they had done these tests on their side : surprisingly for them, none of the customer equipment on the 180 sector was visible. Hum, could be some failure there ? They sent today a specialist on site and it appeared that their antenna has to be changed. Well done : my equipment, as thus of the others in the area, was back on line !

Not only happy, I’m quite proud to have helped to solve this issue !

Then, I can again think seriously to work from this home !

Difficult start

The wimax is not yet very stable in our installation. It seems to be out of order after less than 3 months after the install, and less than 1 month of overall time of normal operations. In terms of quality we are here in presence of what can be named an exception.

So, I have now to wait until the 6th of April before next repair ! The complexity here comes from the fact that the internet provider customer services do not work on saturday, and I am not yet living 100% there. I can think about it only if the internet access is stable : like a vicious circle.
